The Savior of the Blues, Gary Clark Jr

image

In the past two years, Gary Clark Jr hit the festival scene with appearances at The Hangout, Bonnaroo, and many more.  The show that really got his name out was the one he did in Chicago at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2010.  Not long after this great performance, he got a call from the back to back champ, Barack Obama!  Gary performed in the White House February 21st and the show was televised on PBS.  This Dallas, TX native is the savior of the blues and has been constantly compared to the legendary Jimi Hendrix.

This first song is one of my favorites and is a big reason why I can still pull all nighters in Thomas Cooper Library.  It’s a little slower than his usual stuff so also check out the next song to really hear him shred.
